Our Philosophy

At Enhancing Your Health, I believe that health is not just the absence of disease, but a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being. I strive to help my clients achieve this state by providing personalized coaching that addresses all aspects of their health.

Our Services

I offer a range of services to support my clients' health goals, including one-on-one coaching, group programs, workshops, and retreats.My services are designed to be flexible and customizable, so that my clients can choose the option that best fits their needs.

What is a Functional Medicine Health Coach?

  • You are not your illness!  Functional Medicine is a scientific approach to health where the focus is discovering what are the upstream  causes of symptoms, such as high blood pressure, insomnia, weight gain, digestive issues, autoimmune dynamics, high blood sugar, and sugar and food cravings to name a few. Often labwork, health history and current symptoms and life style habits are reviewed differently than conventional references.  
  • How can you be supported on your journey to regain optimal health?  
  • As a  Certified Functional Medicine Health Coach, I focus on YOU, a unique individual.  I guide you  exploring where you are on the  health dis-ease continuum.  Like detectives we discover the root causes and then create a path to an environment for thriving.
  •  Tools we will implement may include stress reduction, breathing {yes, how is your breathing in THIS moment?},  a nutritional plan, tweaking supplement intake, physical movement, connection with nature, reduction of toxins in your body and environment, building social [real life] connection and community
  • There is usually a window where we can be most productive, the earlier we start, the easier and faster it will be to feel your best!
  • Make a commitment to yourself, your HEALTH!
  • We start with an initial intake [I will review information you send me prior to our first official in person/zoom session] and we will then decide how frequently we may need to meet [once or twice a week, moving to every 2 weeks depending on what will be most helpful] 
  • I am available to you in-between sessions by text, email or phone as necessary.

About me

  • My name is Sharen Becker, Bachelor of Science degree from the State University of NY at Buffalo.  I am the mother of 3 sons, two who are medical physicians.  I practiced Occupational Therapy for over 15 years before developing some complicated health issues that could not be resolved through modern medicine alone. Fortunately, through my exploration and research I was able to discover helpful solutions and unlock the mystery of how to get better.  This experience motivated me to study formally and help other people. I know how puzzling and helpless it can feel to seek relief. I will guide you with empathy and will accompany you through your journey.

Wellness Expertise

  • I am an AFMC Certified Practitioner and have studied at the School of Applied  Functional Medicine.  This involves over 620 hours  of training "in advanced functional medicine sciences and validated application through clinical case studies. through intensive study of chronic disease etiology, functional physiology, and evidence-based intervention, along with hands-on clinical practice, practitioners who achieve SAFM's distinguished Applied Functional Medicine Certification are uniquely qualified to provide individually targeted strategies that address the multi-faceted nature of today's complex health challenges." as stated on the website afmccertification.com

This is a journey of deep listening, courageous sharing, centering with breath, getting in touch with our own bodies through gentle movement. We will also explore the emotional and physiological triggers that throw us into patterned, unaware eating.

And why there is a whole lot more to consider than calories in and calories out.

How do we support ourselves in achieving optimal health? What are the obstacles and solutions to building a foundation of self care that allows healthy life choices? What is sabotaging us?

The safe container we will create in person includes agreeing to confidentiality and the ability to listen with care to others.

Conscious Eating Workshop 6 weeks in person, Monday evenings

NEXT ONGOING IN PERSON Wednesday evening CLASS SERIES coming soon!! Enroll in a class to learn and implement basic Functional Medicine principles. We will use breath, gentle movement and mindfulness to foster ease in our bodies. Receive group support in a safe environment with others who share your health goals and challenges In this in person 6 week workshop, we are invited to come back to our bodies, our breath, and to explore our individual needs, beliefs, feelings. How do we support ourselves in achieving optimal health? What are the obstacles and solutions to building a foundation of self care that allows healthy life choices ? What is sabotaging us? The safe container we will create to do this journey includes agreeing to confidentiality and the ability to listen caringly to others. We will use some gentle movement, meditation, journaling and deep sharing.

Offering one on one coaching, using the least amount of testing and supplements, I will be with you through the continuous challenge of making moment to moment choices that may deviate from our own normal, and the normal of the world in which we live.
